Jaybi is built to work primarily on your device. In the current version, we do not require account creation, we do not provide cloud sync, and we do not operate a backend service to store your financial records.

Your pocket names, transactions, categories, reconciliation records, and app settings are stored locally on your phone using on-device storage.

2. Data We Collect

In the current version of Jaybi, we do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data to us or to third parties through our own servers.

The app does not require user accounts in v1.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Jaybi stores the following information locally on your phone:

• Pocket names and pocket currencies
• Opening balances
• Income and expense entries
• Categories, including custom categories you create
• Reconciliation sessions and related justification entries
• App settings such as language, number style, and preferences
• CSV export files that you choose to generate

4. How Your Data Is Used

Your data is used only to provide the app’s core features on your device, including:

• Calculating your current pocket balance
• Displaying your ledger and recent activity
• Running reconciliation and pocket recount flows
• Generating pocket-scoped reports
• Allowing local CSV export when you request it

5. Data Sharing

We do not share your app data with third parties through our own services.

If you choose to export or share a CSV file using your device’s native share features, that action is initiated by you. Any sharing that happens after you choose another app, service, or recipient is governed by the privacy practices of that destination.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it inside the app, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app.

Because Jaybi is local-first and does not maintain a backend account system in v1, we do not retain a separate server copy of your records.

7. Security

We design Jaybi to store data locally on the device. No app can guarantee absolute security, but keeping data on-device reduces exposure associated with centralized remote storage.

You are responsible for protecting access to your phone and any exported files.

8. Children

Jaybi is not specifically directed to children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child is using the app in a way that raises privacy concerns, contact us using the email below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.

If future versions of Jaybi add features such as cloud sync, user accounts, analytics, AI processing, or online services, this Privacy Policy will need to be updated before those features are released.
